In operation since June 2008, Amapari Energia is a diesel-fired thermoelectric power plant in the municipality of Serra do Navio (AP). Designed for 12 MAN technology motors manufactured by STX/Hyundai, MPX owns 51% of the 23 MW plant capacity and Eletronorte the remaining 49%.

Amapari Energia is authorized by Aneel to do business as an Independent Power Producer (PIE) and has a direct power supply contract with Anglo Ferrous Amapá Mineração until 2015. In emergency situation this plant can also supply power to the cities of Serra do Navio and Pedra Branca do Amapari.

In June 2009, unit Operation License was renewed by the State of Amapá Secretariat of the Environment (Sema).
