01/02/2012 - First generator for the Parnaíba TPP arrives at the construction site
The first generator of the UTE Parnaíba, the largest thermoelectric complex in construction in Brazil, arrived this weekend to  venture worksite in Maranhão. Manufactured by GE in the United States, the equipment weighs about 210 tons and together with the turbine is said to be the 'heart' of the thermal plant.

Along the implementation stage the UTE Parnaíba will have power generation units answering for up to 1,531 MW installed capacity. The company also holds and   installation license for other 2191 MW, to reach a total of 3722 MW.
