The benefits of a new development in a community extend beyond the generation of jobs and increased household income. One of MPX challenges is to perpetuate the positive results of MPX action in the areas where we operate, strengthening the social and human capital and encouraging self-sustainability.

Promoting events that enhance the local culture in these areas and sponsoring projects for agricultural development and environmental education are some ways to contribute.

Investing in professional training and urban infrastructure works are also key concerns for MPX, in accordance with the legal obligations relating to MPX business.

Aiming at local labor development to work at the  Itaqui, Pecém, Parnaíba and Chile power plants, MPX offered professional training to 2,200 in the states where the company is doing business, in association with broadly recognized teaching institutions.  Thus, MPX intends to achieve the target of employing the largest number possible of local workers (on average reaching  approximately   70%) and will be qualifying labor for the opportunities that will appear as an increasing number of  industrial establishments are attracted to the power generation poles.
