MPX, the  EBX Group energy company, is engaged  in the exploration and trade of natural resources (coal and natural gas), logistics to carry these fuels, and power generation and trade.

The faster growth platform in the domestic power sector, MPX has a portfolio of four ventures with 3 thousand MW of contracted energy - taking into account only MPX interest in the ventures - and seven greenfield projects in Brazil and in Chile, with more than 14 thousand MW in development. Furthermore, MPX owns world class coal and natural gas assets in Colombia and in Brazil, with flexibility to supply to its own plants or the international market.  In the whole, these resources add  up to 1.74 billion potential coal resources in  Colombia and 459 million tons of  resources in Rio Grande do Sul.  MPX company is also a partner of  OGX in the exploration of eight onshore blocks in the Parnaíba Basin, in  Maranhão, with an estimated potential resources of 11 trillion cubic feet (Tcf).

Through trail brazing ventures, hallmarked by innovation and competitiveness,  MPX adds energy production to low environmental impact. In all company units state –of-the-art  technology alternatives will adopted by MPX, among which is  the Clean Coal Technology.  All projects designed by MPX are in full compliance with the licensing rules set out by the Federal, State and Municipal Administrations and with the most stringent environmental requirements of the finance agencies, such as BNDES (Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Econômico e Social), IDB (Interamerican Development Bank) and BNB (Banco do Nordeste).   MPX will also direct a significant portion of company investments to research and development of carbon sequestration technologies​.
